GES Alert Service

News briefing with investor focus

WHAT IS GES ALERT SERVICE?

Since 2003, GES Alert Service provides clients with weekly news briefings on recently reported company incidents allegedly in violation of international norms on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. The news are forwarded to the client within a week after obtained through GES' screening. By this systemized process, GES Alert Service singles out news of special investor concern which often take long before being highlighted in mainstream media or disappear in the torrent of news.

TWO PUBLICATIONS

GES Alert Service offers two weekly publications - Alert and Alert Extended. The Alert covers new incidents possibly fulfilling the criteria of the GES Global Ethical Standard, thus giving the client an early signal of what cases are entering the analysis process and might turn up in the semi-annual report. The Alert is also the starting point for an engagement process which clients subscribing to GES Engagement Forum can follow in real-time on GES Client Site.

The Alert Extended reports on new incidents that almost made it into the original Alert but failed to be established as severe or systematic, however still constituting a considerable non-financial risk. In addition, the Alert Extended includes incidents concerning certain norm areas of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises that are currently not covered by the GES Global Ethical Standard but might be included in the future due to increasing public concern over governance, e.g. Disclosure, Competition and Taxation.

The publications are in the format of newsletters which are e-mailed directly to the client and at the same time published on the GES Client Site, where the client also has access to a voluminous archive containing all publications since the inception in 1998.
